Saginaw bay nature festival
The Muter Outdoor Fund is proud to support the annual Saginaw Bay Nature Festival spearheaded by the Rotary Club of Standish and Pinconning.
The Saginaw Bay Nature Festival seeks to connect people of all ages and backgrounds to our land and water and highlights the rich natural resources and recreational opportunities available to those in the Saginaw Bay Region. From March through May, members of the Rotary Club hosted dozens of public outreach events ranging from classroom presentations, fishing clinics, school field trips, public tours, and arts activities for Saginaw Bay youth and their families.
We look forward to continuing and deepening this important partnership with the Rotary Club. To learn more about the Festival, click here.

The Muter Outdoor Fund hosted nature photography activities with 47 students from Standish-Sterling Central High School and Pinconning High School in May. One group of students explored the nature preserve near the S-S campus and two groups had the opportunity to take a field trip to Bay City State Park. Students worked with photographer Ragnar Avery and engaged in scavenger hunts and other fun outdoor activities as they searched for interesting plants, animals, landscapes, and other subjects to photograph. They returned to their classrooms to look through their images and select their favorites which were exhibited at the 2023 Nature Festival Banquet. The Muter Outdoor Fund purchased another set of 12 cameras to support these activities in 2023.
